He enrolled at the University of Cincinnati, OH, in 1990, where he studied chemical engineer and received his B.S. in 1994. During this time, he met an artist and a painter, Kim Vuong. She encouraged his work and posed for numerous portraits.  He was first introduced digital photography by Phi Vu Nguyen from Houston, TX.  From him, he learned his trade as an accomplished digital photojournalist in 1999.  As a proud father of 8-month old, Leo DucVu, he lives of his passion with all the exuberance of that same boy learning photography from his father, two decades ago.

It was not Binh’s original intention to be a photographer, and from 1990 to 1999, he took mainly images of families, studies, and travels. Working as a photojournalist, he fine tuned his eyes to catch powerful moments which would only occur once.

With a passion for photography that spans over 10 years, Binh Nguyen has long been recognized as one of energetic photographer in Louisville, KY.  Acknowledged to celebrate lives, he has shot eventful moments.  With friends and family's influence, he continues his exploration of photography as a means of art making. 

Binh’s diverse work— scenery, pictures of children, portraits, sculptures—is united by the constancy of his approach and technique. The surfaces of his prints offer a seemingly endless gradation of blacks and whites, shadow and light, and regardless of subject, his images are lively.  His photos conveys true emotion.

Binh's passion for photography is evident in his working ethics.  Treating his work with the utmost professionalism and care, and infuses his creativity into his photos. 

He is known for his unique approach to wedding photography.  In a city where wedding images can often look too contrived, Binh aims to capture the spontaneity and emotion impact a wedding day inspires.
